Ruth has been a Governor since September 2022 and sits on the Pastoral Committee.
Having grown up and schooled in Yorkshire, Dr Ruth Newman went on to study Medicine at Imperial College London. Ruth graduated in 2005 and later moved to Bristol to complete specialist Paediatric training. Ruth became a General Paediatric Consultant at Dorset County Hospital in 2019 and has an interest in Paediatric Allergy, Eating Disorders and mental health.
Ruth is heavily involved in medical education at the hospital and is passionate about working with young people, regarding it a privilege to do so. She has two children at Sherborne Prep School.
