It has been a delight to share our LOVE of books this week for World Book Day!
The day began with an assembly of celebration where year 7 challenged us with quizzes and fun facts about different authors - from William Shakespeare to Michael Morpurgo. They entertained us greatly with their play 'Charlie Curls and the World of Books'
Year 8 travelled to Bath, experiencing a range of Literary greats at Mary Shelley's House of Frankenstein and then dipped into the world of Jane Austen at The Pump Room. As part of their cross-curricular learning for English and History, they enjoyed a production of Animal Farm by George Orwell, at the Theatre Royal Bath.
Reception through to year 5 took turns to join Mrs Holroyd in the library for a relaxing story-time session, and lessons across the curriculum were book themed. Our wonderful kitchen staff even made 'book biscuits' for snack!
Staff and children alike embraced the day in costume; these were clever, funny and all were sporting a huge amount of energy!
