We are enormously proud of the Pre-Prep children who competed in an annual Gymnastics Competition held by Port Regis School on Thursday, 25 January.
Working incredibly hard and showing great teamwork, the children performed Floor and Vault routines to a panel of judges and an audience of parents and teachers. In the weeks leading up to this event, the Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 children had been practising and perfecting their routines in their gymnastics lessons at school.
There was an excited buzz in the air, and lots of encouraging support from children, parents, and staff from both schools as all the young gymnasts competed. All teachers and parents were incredibly proud of the children's behaviour, their desire to make friends with each other and try their very best in the competition.
Mrs Natalie McFarlane, Teacher of PE and Sport and Gymnastics Coach at Sherborne Prep said, “It was a wonderful afternoon of meeting new people, celebrating participation and competing against others. The children were extremely brave, well-behaved, and performed incredibly well. I am very proud of them all.”
