Year 7 trips

Year 7 spent a wonderful day in Bristol celebrating the life and achievements of arguably the most important engineer of his age, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Exploring the SS Great Britain was a highlight and the children were thrilled by the sheer size and design of the ship! They took a trip through ‘Brunel’s Mind’ and examined the intricate plans and drawings of many of the iconic structures still in use today.

In the afternoon they visited one such structure, the Clifton Suspension Bridge. After marvelling at the view, the children were thrilled by the prospect of walking across the bridge and keen to get a feel for its size and magnificence! After such thrills, the day ended with all of year 7 letting off steam at the Clifton adventure playground!

As you can imagine, the children had a glorious day out in Bristol and enhanced their understanding of Brunel’s role and influence within the Industrial Revolution considerably!
