Year 3 trips

Charmouth is made up of two beaches: the West Beach with both sand and shingle, and the East Beach, the more sandy end and is a good place to find small Ammonite and Belemnite fossils. The children spent a lot of time fossil hunting!

Later they went to Dorset Museum to learn about English fossil collector and palaeontologist, Mary Anning, who became known around the world for the discoveries she made in Jurassic marine fossil beds in the cliffs along the Jurassic Coast.
