Not only was this year 6’s first production in a very long time, but it was also our first venture using Greenfield Hall at Sherborne International to stage our drama productions.
The week of rehearsals was extraordinary. The first of many highlights was the look of delight and wonder as the children stepped into the space on Monday morning. Not having danced one step, nor read the script through as a cast, many arrived knowing their lines and we hit the ground running with a shared goal of producing the best show we could.
The cast have demonstrated themselves to be children with great ability, talent, showing resilience, adaptability and most importantly in pressured situations they have been great team players, consistently showing kindness and always learning with a sense of fun.
Working up here has been like a wonderful residential, but they go home at the end of the day for food and rest!

Lionel Bart’s Oliver! premiered in London in 1960. Based on Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist, it is widely hailed as a theatrical masterpiece.
For both cast and audience, it was a moment to remember for a very long time.
